This number was an opportunity to display Robert Anne’s personality and love of performing. All the moves are meant to be big and bold to show how passionate she is about putting on a show. I was also inspired by her referencing A Chorus Line, which I tried to emulate at some moments. Similarly to Sister Hubert’s line at the end of “Turn Up That Spotlight”, Reverend Mother’s remarks at the end of this song imply that not all the movement in this song is befitting of a nun.

Research/ Notes on Lyrics

  • A Chorus Line is a 1975 musical directed and choreographed by Micheal Bennett.
  • Nuns must take vows of poverty, promising to give up worldly wealth.

Pose from A Chorus Line similar to the one that Robert Anne does in this number.
